βοΈ The Challenge
Users have trouble remembering their kitchen pantry stock when they go grocery shopping. Users often have to write a list or note on their phones to remember what to buy at the grocery
It is common for the user to forget which ingredients are running low, especially while grocery shopping
It takes a lot of time to look for recipes to cook with the exact ingredients that the user has in their pantry
How might we enhance their grocery shopping/organizing experience?
π Goals
Design an iOS app that keeps track of and organizes usersβ pantries digitally by pairing a weighable container that measures usersβ ingredients.

π Onboarding
This series of screens is what users will experience when they enter the app. The user can log in with an existing account or create a new account.
π₯« How to add ingredients to the app
When the user lands on the homepage, they can look at their digital pantry at a glance and also trending recipes that can be cooked with their ingredients.
To add an ingredient, the user can use the scanning feature located on the footer of the screen. This series of screens shows the process of adding ingredients to the app by scanning a Salt n Pair weighable container.
A Salt n Pair weighable container has a QR code that the user can scan with the app. The container weighs the ingredients to keep track of them.
π― Smart pantry
The user can digitally look at their pantry with Salt n Pair. If some ingredients are running low (the container has gotten lighter), the app indicates to the user that the specific ingredient is running low. The user can also look at each added ingredient in detail.
This will help the user keep track of their pantry with the app, especially to check which ingredients are running low while grocery shopping.
π Smart grocery shopping
When the app detects the user at a grocery shop, it notifies them if they have an ingredient running low. This can help the user to get reminded of what they need to re-stock.
π©βπ³ Recipes
Watching a cooking video and realizing the user is missing an ingredient is a hassle. It also takes a lot of time to look for recipes to cook with the exact ingredients that the user has.
Since Salt n Pair tracks the pantry in usersβ kitchens, the app has a feature that the user can enable that shows a list of recipes that can be made with the ingredients that the user has at home. This can help the users save time looking for recipes.
π€ Community
This series of screens shows the process of when a user needs to borrow an ingredient from nearby Salt n Pair users. The user can type in the ingredients they need, and the app will detect nearby users with them.
